Morgan Chadwick, Teacher

Hello! My name is Morgan Chadwick, and I am a senior at Cornell University in the College of Human Ecology studying Nutritional Sciences. I am from Binghamton, NY, so I enjoy working with other Upstate New York communities. Outside of school, a few of my hobbies and interests include traveling and spending time with my family. At Cornell, I am a part of various organizations including Pre-Orientation Service Trips (POST), GlobeMed, and more. After graduation, I plan to take a gap year before attending medical school.

I have always loved working with children, and until the Brain Days project, I did not have as much contact with children at Cornell as I had in high school. I hope to carry my passion for working with children through to my future career in health care. Furthermore, I have always been fascinated by science, anatomy, and the brain. I have been fortunate enough to receive a good high school and college education, but I know I would have loved to learn about neuroscience in fun ways in elementary school if given the chance. The Brain Days project is providing great educational opportunities and mentorship for elementary school students, and I am excited to be a part of the team. When we interact with the students, we give presentations and lessons that simplify complicated topics such as neuroscience into easily understandable and fun activities for the children. I knew we had made a difference at the school when one student told us that she wanted to be part of the Brain Days team when she grew up! Children absorb a large amount of information and observations about the world around them, and Brain Days provides another opportunity for exposure to college mentors and exciting knowledge.
