Kaylin Ratner

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Human Development at Cornell University. I work primarily with Dr. Anthony Burrow. My work focuses on how adolescents and young adults think about their senses of identity, purpose, and meaning in life, and how these senses interface with psychopathology. For the past three years, I’ve been involved with the Program for Research on Youth Development and Engagement (PRYDE). We have a standing partnership with New York State 4-H, and our goal is to find ways to use social science to bolster positive youth development outcomes. I have served as a teaching assistant in the senior PRYDE Scholars’ translational learning course for the past two years and, in doing so, have developed a deep appreciation for bringing science into real world spaces. My role in Get to Know your Brain Days is to help develop learning content and design activities.
